Well Trained Horses?

Our family recently took the opportunity to head up to the Cold Creek area. Aside from this being a great area to get out and do some offroading, it’s also a great place to go see some wild horses. There are plenty of them to see, but some of them are more talented than others. One that comes to mind is this guy:

You may wonder why I consider this particular horse all that talented. Well, as I will demonstrate below, this creature seems to either understand English, or has been trained to respond to certain commands. When I first got into the same vicinity of this horse, I rolled down my window, and yelled “SPEAK!” with this result:

This took me aback. I wasn’t expecting this from a wild horse, whom I would have not expected to be acquainted with such things. Out of curiosity, I then decided to try another command, so I yelled out “LAY DOWN!”

Now I was starting to get really impressed. It might have been a fluke that this horse spoke when he did, but two commands in a row, both executed to perfection? That was no coincidence. Emboldened, I tried again. “PLAY DEAD!”

Then, the horse got up and looked at me somewhat expectantly. I yell “SIT DOWN!” The horse does nothing, and gives me a look worthy of a hotel valet. “SHAKE!” Nothing. Apparently the horse realized I had no carrots or apples to hand out, so he walked away.
